Cape May Court House, NJ – Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County Family and Community Health Sciences (FCHS) Program will present a Kids Cooking Club on Thursday, January 26, 2023. The free program, for children 8 to 12 years of age, will take place from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Rutgers Cooperative Extension, 355 Courthouse-South Dennis Road, CMCH, NJ.
The program, presented by Chris Zellers, MPP, FCHS Educator/Assistant Professor, will focus on the protein food group. Children who participate will learn about the protein food group, how to cook with different types of protein, why protein is healthy for our bodies, and safe cooking with protein.
Zellers said, “We are excited to offer this Kids Cooking Club so our students will have a hands-on experience in the kitchen. This program incorporates nutrition education and is designed to engage the students from start to finish while teaching them the nutritional benefits of cooking with proteins.”
The class is free and open to the public, but space is limited, therefore advanced registration is required by January 16, 2022. Please register at https://go.rutgers.edu/nfxsqenh. If you have any questions or would like more information, please call 609-465-5115, ext. 3609.
