Cape May Court House – Cape May County’s 4-H Horse Council and the 4-H Youth Development Program are pleased to announce the winners of the 19th Annual 4-H Golf Tournament held on June 4, 2023 at the Avalon Golf Club, Swainton, New Jersey.
The first-place winners of the tournament were the team of Jeff Douglass, Brian Oliver, Zeb Taylor, and Dan Oliver. The first-place coed team included Michael Laricks, Lauren Hansen, Jordan Stiefel, and Bob Munizza. The second-place team was Barry Quinn, Kevin Lewis, John Holton, Bill Barcas.
Additionally, Michael Clark, Vice President of Business Development, Sturdy Savings Bank, made a 165-yard hole in one on the third hole during the tournament. Clark, the first person in the tournament’s history to make a hole in one, was awarded a two-year car lease from hole sponsor Kindle Auto Plaza.
The 4-H Horse Council is the volunteer advisory group for the 4-H horse clubs of Cape May County. All proceeds from the tournament benefit 4-H horse project educational costs, youth participation in state and national 4-H leadership events, and renovations to the 4-H horse show arena on the 4-H Fairgrounds. The next project is new fencing for the arena.
