Cape May Court House – 4-H Volunteer and Club Leader Marlene Conover received the 2023 Ruth Steenland Memorial 4-H Leader Award during the opening ceremony for the Cape May County 4-H Fair on July 20, 2023.
4-H Foundation President Craig DeGenova and Linda Horner, 4-H Program Coordinator presented Marlene with the award for her commitment to the 4-H Youth Development Program as a 4-H volunteer for many years including serving as the leader for the Needles and Thread 4-H Sewing Club.
Horner said, “One of the members of the Needles and Thread Club said ‘Mrs. Conover is patient and kind. She helps me restitch my projects and she taught me sewing, she is a great teacher.’ – This is just one example of Marlene’s dedication to our 4-H Youth.” “Marlene is always there when you need a volunteer and truly cares about the Cape May County 4-H Youth Development Program,” added Horner.
