Cape May Court House – Cape May County 4-H announced the winners of the 2nd Annual Art Show held during the 2023 4-H Fair. The Art Show, that was open to the public, included artwork from adults and children in a variety of mediums.
The theme of the art show was Celebrating the Red, White, and Blue. The contest received 19 submissions which were judged by the public during the 4-H Fair, July 20 through the 22, 2023.
And the winners are… the winner of the theme category is 8-year-old Sasha Hamann for his piece titled, “The Eagle” created with colored pencils. In the Adult category, the winner is Betty Jean Webersinn for her acrylic painting titled “Perennial Peace,” and the winner in the children’s division is 12-year-old Willow Ferguson for her acrylic painting “Paint Horse.”
Each winner received a hand painted canvas tote bag, designed and painted by the Canvas and Brush 4-H Art Club, and filled with a variety of art supplies.
Dana Barry, leader of the Canvas and Brush 4-H Art Club and Coordinator of the Art Show at the 4-H Fair, said, “We were pleased with this year’s show/contest but would like to see submissions grow next year and to that end plan to offer cash prizes to all winners.”
