Cape May Court House – The Agriculture and Natural Resources Department of Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County will host Agritourism 101, a free informative talk for farmers, on Wednesday, October 11, from 6 to 7 p.m.
The informational talk geared to local farmers on the importance of agritourism will be presented by Dr. Claudia Gil Arroyo, County Agent III for Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County. Attendees will learn what agritourism is in general and what it means for NJ; agritourism’s importance to the local economy; and different types of agritourism and their benefits.
Dr. Gil Arroyo said, “Agritourism is a great way for farmers to earn additional farm income through recreational activities and diversification of products. There are different types of agritourism, so the opportunities are there for the variety of farms we have in Cape May County.”
