Cape May Court House – Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources will hold the workshop, Culinary and Medicinal uses of Garden Herbs, on Thursday, October 26, 2023, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Rutgers Cooperative Extension, 355 Courthouse – South Dennis Road, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.
The presenter will be Norma Lindbloom-Cruz, a Certified Herbalist. She will focus on culinary and medicinal uses of garden herbs including identifying garden herbs by using both their common and Latin names, discussing traditional culinary uses of the presented herbs, and the medicinal uses of the herbs displayed.
“Herbs are fairly easy to grow in your home garden and aren’t just for adding flavor to your favorite dishes. There are a lot of plants that have both culinary and medicinal properties. Many herbs can be used to make teas or tinctures,” said Jen Sawyer Caraballo, ANR County Program Associate for Commercial Agriculture, RCE Cape May County.
