RUTGERS COOPERATIVE EXTENSION OF CAPE MAY COUNTY AGRICULTURE AND NATURAL RESOURCES DEPARTMENT HOSTS WEBINAR FOR FARMERS ON RUTGERS FOOD INNOVATION CENTER
Cape May Court House – The Agriculture and Natural Resources Department of Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County will host, Introduction to the Rutgers Food Innovation Center, a free webinar for farmers, on Thursday, January 18, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The presenters will be Julie Elmer, Associate Director Food Technology Rutgers Food Innovation Center, and Zuri Masud, RFIC Food Technology Specialist, Reveal Beverage Entrepreneur. The informational talk, geared to local farmers, will introduce the Center to participants who will learn about Value Added Agriculture including definitions and opportunities. Plus hear client stories.
Jen Sawyer Caraballo, ANR County Program Associate for Commercial Agriculture, Cooperative Extension of Cape May County said, “By producing value-added products farmers can utilize more of their raw product, have the potential to increase sales and potentially open more marketing opportunities. The Rutgers Food Innovation Center provides business, marketing, product design, food safety training courses, and scale-up expertise within FDA- and USDA-certified facilities. It is a wonderful resource for those in the agriculture community to get into more value-added product production and sales.”
