Cape May Court House – The Cape May County 4-H Youth Development Program is proud to announce the Outstanding Senior and Junior 4-H Members for 2024. Kaitlyn Flynn and Autumn Richards were named Outstanding Senior and Emma Gotwols was named Outstanding Junior in recognition of their accomplishments in 4-H project work, citizenship, leadership, community service, and personal development.
2024 Outstanding Senior 4-H Member Kaitlyn Flynn is a member of the Milky Ways, Teen Ambassadors, and the Kitchen Phanatics 4-H Clubs. Kaitlyn will be a senior at Lower Cape May Regional High School in September and has been a member of the 4-H Youth Development Program for three years. She continually demonstrates her leadership skills with the roles she takes on in 4-H and through her willingness to volunteer and give back to the community. Kaitlyn said, “4-H has enabled me to continue a family tradition, give back to my community and work with others to make the best better.”
2024 Outstanding Senior 4-H Member Autumn Richards is a member of the Teen Ambassadors, Scales & Tails, Emerald Theater Company, and Kitchen Phanatics 4-H Clubs. She will be in the 12th grade at Lower Cape May Regional High School in September and has been a member of the 4-H Youth Development Program for ten years. Autumn has completed several 4-H projects, has held many leadership positions in 4-H clubs including serving as secretary of the Kitchen Phanatics this year, and has volunteered for numerous community service projects. Autumn said, “Because of my involvement in the 4-H Youth Development Program, I have passion and vigor and the necessary skills to be successful in the future.”
Outstanding Junior 4-H Member Emma Gotwols is a member of the Beach Bullseyes, Kitchen Phanatics, Lambs R Us, Scales & Tails, Science Rocks, Teen Ambassadors, and Tightlines 4-H Clubs. She will be in the 9th grade at Middle Township High School in September and has been a member of the 4-H Youth Development Program for 8 years. Emma has held numerous leadership positions in 4-H including serving as president and vice president of two 4-H clubs this year. She has completed several 4-H projects earning many medals and titles and has volunteered for numerous community service projects. Emma said, “Through 4-H camps and programs I have grown and learned to appreciate so much, and it has helped me to be a better person and to be more involved in our Cape May County community.”
Linda Horner, 4-H Program Coordinator said, “One objective of this award program is to provide an opportunity for youth to expand their experiences, enhance their personal and leadership development and to represent 4-H in the community.” The 2024 Outstanding 4-H Members will represent the Cape May County 4-H Youth Development Program in a variety of ways including participating at this year’s 4-H Fair on July 18, 19, and 20.
