Cape May County 4-H Fair…July 18, 19, & 20
Cape May Court House – The Cape May County 4-H Fair will be held on July 18-19-20 at the Cape May County 4-H Fairgrounds. This is the 53rd year that the fair has been held on the current 4-H Fairgrounds. This year’s theme is Oh, the Places We will Go with 4-H! So, expect to have a lot of fun as you experience all the traditional fair activities that you expect to see at the 4-H Fair plus a variety of live entertainment. Admission to the 4-H Fair is Free.
This year’s 4-H Fair features a wide array of entertainers that are favorites of Cape May County residents and visitors alike. The fair’s headlining events will be CAT5 and the Double Shot Band. CAT 5 with powerhouse lead female vocal Cat Manning will have everyone rocking the night away on Friday, July 19 from 7 to 10 p.m. Cat, who does a tribute to Janis Joplin, started fronting bands around the age of 15. She is sure to bring tons of energy on stage and really belt those tunes out that we all know and love!
The Double Shot Band, a classic rock band, will take the main stage on Saturday, July 20th from 7 to 10 p.m. Rock ‘n’ Roll & Remember all those classic great tunes from the 60’s and 70’s including the music of the Rolling Stones, Chicago, Elvis Presley, the Temptations, the Eagles and more.
Enjoy your Chicken BBQ starting at 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 18 after listening to singer Rachel Miller open the 4-H Fair. Also, watch Ken the Magician & Jazzy Jen and experience the fun of balloon twisting on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.
“The 4-H Foundation is excited to bring these talented entertainers to this year’s 4-H Fair. There definitely will be something for everyone,” said Lisa McVey, 4-H Foundation President.
Other entertainment includes the popular Pet Show on Saturday, July 20 at 10 a.m. – where contestants will have a chance to win a full year’s supply of pet food donated by Smeltzer & Sons Feed & Pet Supplies. The Pet Show is open to all.
Other fair favorites include livestock and equestrian shows, a children’s discovery area, and vendors with delicious food and interesting items. Plus, amusement rides, carnival games, and more will be buzzing on the 4-H Fairground’s Midway. The Float Boat Company, RC2U portable racing monster trucks, and Gelly Ball will return to delight young and old alike.
The 4-H Fair is a Cape May County tradition that also offers a nightly Chicken BBQ at 5 p.m., sponsored by the Cape May County Board of Agriculture. The famous Chicken Bar-B-Que sells out quickly each evening. Tickets will go on sale starting at 4 pm each day at the Fairgrounds. There will be no advance sales of tickets this year.
The public hours for the 2024 Cape May County 4-H Fair are 3 to 10 p.m. on Thursday, July 18 and from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, July 19 (All vendors will be open by 3 p.m.) and Saturday, July 20. The 4-H fairgrounds are located at 355 Court House – S. Dennis Road in Cape May Court House, New Jersey.
Limited premium parking is available at $10 per car at the Atlantic Cape Community College campus, located next door to the fairgrounds. Free parking is at the Cape May County Park and Zoo with free, air-conditioned shuttle service to the fair provided by Fare Free Transportation. Buses are comfortable, air-conditioned, and fully handicapped accessible. Please note: No dogs permitted, except for certified service animals.
