Cape May Court House – The month of October is a time to celebrate 4-H! You are invited to join us for a 4-H Open House and Trunk or Treat on Sunday, October 6 from 1 to 4 p.m. The event will kick off celebration of National 4-H Week, October 6 through 12. Cape May County 4-H members are excited to host this event, which will include fun 4-H club trunks and treats, hayrides, a petting zoo, and a pumpkin patch, at the 4-H Fairgrounds, 355 Court House – South Dennis Road, CMCH, NJ 08210.
This year’s National 4-H Week theme is Beyond Ready! Building a ready generation in a world of change, 4-H equips youth with skills for the future while meeting them where they are today. Becoming Beyond Ready encompasses opportunities and experiences, connections, and discovery, shaping youth into their true and authentic selves. 4-H is a community of young people across America who learn leadership, citizenship, and life skills. Through 4-H participation, young people combine their interests with learning practical skills so they can make a positive difference in their own lives and in their communities. 4-H programs are offered in a variety of formats including both in-person and virtual clubs, conferences, competitions, camps, and much more.
Enrollment is now taking place for the new 4-H year, making it a great time to become a part of Cape May County 4-H! We offer 20 4-H clubs covering a variety of topics for youth in kindergarten through one year out of high school. There are 4-H clubs for archery, fishing, cooking, LEGOS, shooting sports, horses, livestock, art, sewing, and more. Many of our 4-H clubs, like our brand-new archery club, are welcoming new members. Before enrolling in 4-H through our online registration program, we recommend that you speak to our office and visit a club meeting or two. “4-H is an exciting world of learning opportunities and new experiences including projects, friends, clubs, camps, conferences, and much more. 4-H is one of the most beneficial experiences your child can have,” said Linda Horner, Cape May County 4-H Program Coordinator. “They will learn new skills, build independence and make new friends.”
Once you have found the right club or clubs for your child, then enroll at https://4h.zsuite.org/.
