Members of the Cape May County Teen Ambassadors 4-H Club recently helped out at Cape Assist’s Peer Leadership Conference held on November 22 at the Wildwoods Convention Center. 4-H youth have been involved in the conference since its inception 29 years ago.
During the event over 450 peer-leader teens and pre-teens from all over Cape May County participated in hands-on workshops that teach them how to make healthy life choices. This year’s conference featured educational sessions, fun activities, voting booths, and many county resources. Teen Ambassadors handed out workshop packets and swag bags, made announcements, collected evaluations, and created an interactive 4-H display that brought the conference theme of “I’ll Be There for You” to life with friendship songs and quotes on friendship and belonging.
“4-H is grateful for its long-standing partnership with Cape Assist, Cape May County’s nonprofit organization, dedicated to preventing and treating substance abuse and related issues,” said Linda Horner, Cape May County 4-H Program Coordinator.
