Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources will hold the workshop Seed Starting and Seedling Care on Wednesday, February 12 from 6:30 to 8:30pm at Rutgers Cooperative Extension (RCE) of Cape May County. This is the second workshop in the series, “Start Your Gardens: Everything you need to know about starting a vegetable garden from planning & planting to harvesting,” taking place in 2025. Classes are open to all skill levels and take place at the RCE Office, 355 Courthouse-South Dennis Road, CMCH, NJ 08210.
The main instructor is Jen Sawyer Caraballo, Program Associate, Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County. “Over the past four years we have seen a definite increase in the number of people reaching out to our office about growing vegetables at home. What better way to help budding gardeners than with classes that help attendees get set up for a successful growing season,” said Sawyer Caraballo
Participants at the “Seed Starting & Seedling Care” class will learn seed starting indoors verses direct sowing, selecting seed starting supplies and equipment, and seedling care. The cost to attend is $15 and includes seed starts to take home from the hands-on portion of the workshop. To register for the February 12 class, go to https://go.rutgers.edu/bnid4a8q.
