Cape May Court House, NJ – Rutgers Cooperative Extension Family and Community Health Sciences Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Group will hold their first meeting of 2026 on Thursday, January 22nd from 5pm to 6:30pm at Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County, 355 Courthouse-South Dennis Road, Cape May Court House, New Jersey. The building is handicapped accessible.
Anneliese Kuemmerle, MS, RDN, FCHS Program Associate II for Cape May County, oversees the Grandparents Raising Grandchildren program that meets 10 months each year providing information and support to Cape May County grandparents who are raising their grandchildren.
The January program will feature guest presenter Teri O’Connor, experienced registered yoga teacher with advanced training in functional movement and empowered aging, mediation coach, and reiki master. O’Connor will present: Stretch Away Stress plus teach the grandparents about somatic movement. “We are excited to extend Teri’s expertise to support caregivers in strengthening their own well-being. Yoga and meditation are powerful tools for building resilience, reducing stress, and supporting overall health, ” said Kuemmerle.
New families are always welcome at the Grandparents Raising Grandchildren caregiver wellness group. The program is specifically designed for grandparents or relatives who have full-time responsibility for raising their grandchildren or kin.
Childcare will be provided for the grandchildren, and a light supper will be served at 5pm with the program following at 5:30pm. There is no charge for this program, however, advanced registration is required by January 16, 2026.
