Lilly Carr, CMC State 4-H Teen Council Representative and a junior at Cape May County Technical High School and Ryley Yates, CMC Outstanding 4-H Junior and a freshman at Ocean City High School, along with Cape May County Program Associate Donna Griebau, attended workshops and represented Cape May County at the Joint NJ Agricultural Convention Banquet and Award Presentations.
Cape May County joined over 20 agricultural organizations who were proudly represented by ambassadors at the convention. Each ambassador showcased their organization’s display and connected with leaders, including State Board President Bob Blew and Assistant Agriculture Secretary Joe Atchison.
Also, while at the convention, Cape May County 4-Hers attended the Next Generation AG Summit which connected young leaders from communities across New Jersey, they interacted with agricultural leaders who help sustain and lead our integrated food system, and they learned about employment in agriculture.
“These 4-H youth are the future of New Jersey Agriculture. It is beneficial for them to meet and interact with current Agricultural professionals. They shared their ideas, where they see the ag industry in ten years and what their career goals are and learned how to achieve them,” said Griebau.
