Cape May Court House – Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources will hold the workshop, “Basics of Beekeeping,” on Thursday, November 3, 2022, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Rutgers Cooperative Extension, 355 Courthouse – South Dennis Road, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.
The presenter will be Nick Pinizzotto, 3rd Vice President, Jersey Cape Beekeepers Association. Participants of the workshop will learn Honeybees’ role in Agriculture and Horticulture, how honey is made, and ways to support the honeybees.
Pinizzotto is a beekeeper who lives in Pittsgrove, NJ where he tends approximately 10 hives on his family farm. He actively participates in outreach programs helping to educate the public and create awareness about the honeybee’s important role in agriculture and horticulture.
“Are you curious about honeybees? How honey is made? Considered becoming a beekeeper but want to know more about what is involved in keeping bees, or just what you can do to help the plight of the honeybee? this class is for you,” said Pinizzotto.
This is a beginner class; therefore, no experience is needed. The cost for this workshop is $5 and snacks and drinks will be provided. Pre-register and pay at https://go.rutgers.edu/k40fj93b.
