Cape May Court House – Back by popular demand…Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources will hold a second workshop on Seed Starting on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Rutgers Cooperative Extension, 355 Courthouse – South Dennis Road, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.
The first workshop, Seed Starting 101, held in January was sold out and had a wait list, so the decision was made to offer the popular workshop again in February. The presenter will be Jen Sawyer Caraballo, ANR County Program Associate for Commercial Agriculture, RCE Cape May County. Participants of Seed Starting 101, part of the Garden & Grow workshop series, will learn the basics of seed starting, when to start seeds indoors, how to select equipment, and seedling care. Also, everyone who attends the presentation will receive a seed starter kit to take home.
“Not all vegetable or flower varieties are available as plants, so starting your garden from seed gives you more varieties to choose from and can be more economical than buying only started plants. Plus, growing your own plants can be a very satisfying endeavor,” said Sawyer Caraballo.
This is a beginner class; therefore, no experience is needed. The cost to attend is $10 and snacks and drinks will be provided. Seats are limited , so Pre-register and pay early at https://go.rutgers.edu/gmuj4j02
