Cape May Court House, NJ – Rutgers Cooperative Extension Family and Community Health Sciences Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Group will hold a meeting on Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County, 355 Courthouse-South Dennis Road, Cape May Court House, New Jersey. The building is handicap accessible.
Special guest speaker Leslie Smith, MSW, School Social Worker will draw from her personal experience of being raised by her grandmother and talk about the positive influence it had on her life. Chris Zellers, Cape May County FCHS Educator/Assistant Professor said, “Despite challenges that may arise when providing kinship care for a loved one, the benefits for both children and family member are endless.”
The Grandparents Raising Grandchildren program meets 10 months each year providing information and support to Cape May County grandparents who are raising their grandchildren. New families are always welcome! Childcare is provided and a light supper will be served at 5:00 p.m. with the program following at 5:30 p.m.
