Cape May Court House, NJ – Rutgers Cooperative Extension Family and Community Health Sciences Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Group will hold a meeting on Thursday, November 14, 2024, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County, 355 Courthouse-South Dennis Road, Cape May Court House, New Jersey.
Special guest speaker will be Megan Santiago, Health Educator, Cape May County Health Department. She will speak about the importance of keeping your mind sharp. Attendees will learn to recognize the effects of normal aging on the brain, several ways to improve your brain function, and how to prevent senior moments by doing specific brain exercises.
Chris Zellers, Cape May County FCHS Educator/Assistant Professor said, “Kinship caregivers often find it difficult to care for themselves while caring for others however, it is important that you make the time for your physical and mental well-being. This program will offer easy to implement and helpful suggestions to keep the brain functioning and healthy.”
The Grandparents Raising Grandchildren program meets 10 months each year providing information and support to Cape May County grandparents who are raising their grandchildren. New families are always welcome! Childcare is provided and a light supper will be served at 5:00 p.m. with the program following at 5:30 p.m.
