Cape May Court House – Interested in learning more about rabbits and other small animals? Join us for the new Cape May County 4-H Event, Meet the Breeds, on Saturday, February 28 from 1 to 3pm on the Cape May County 4-H Fairgrounds, 355 Court House-South Dennis Road, CMCH, NJ, 08210. This fun event is free and open to all youth in grades kindergarten through 8th grade – you don’t have to be a 4-H member to attend. However, all youth must be accompanied by an adult.
Attendees will learn about the breeds and how to care for these animals through hands-on activities and games. Breeds of rabbits on hand will include the mini rex, holland lop, French angora, lionhead and netherland dwarf. Plus, everyone will have the opportunity to meet other small animals such as hedgehogs and guinea pigs.
“Youth will meet different types of rabbits while learning about breed specific characteristics, grooming requirements, temperaments and how to select the perfect small animal for their family,” said Donna Griebau, 4-H Program Associate for Cape May County. “We also look forward to meeting new youth in the community and introducing them to the Cape May County 4-H Youth Development Program,” added Griebau.
The event is free; however, registration is required by Wednesday, February 25, 2026. To register, please email Donna at donna.griebau@rutgers.edu. For more information about the Cape May County 4-H Meet the Breeds event, contact Donna at 609-465-5115, ext. 3617.
